Minotauro

Minotauro is a publisher specialising in fantastic literature and science fiction belonging to Grupo Planeta, which it joined in 2001, forty-five years after it was founded in Argentina.

The publisher of the complete works of J. R. R. Tolkien, Minotauro features authors such as Philip K. Dick; Ray Bradbury, creator of the legendary Crónicas marcianas; Ursula K. Le Guin, creator of Terramar; William Gibson, father of cyberpunk; John Crowley; Kim Stanley Robinson, author of the Trilogía de Marte, and the popular Christopher Priest. It also publishes best-selling Spanish authors: Javier Negrete, León Arsenal, Rafael Marín and Juan Miguel Aguilera.

In addition to the classic authors in this genre, the Minotauro catalogue includes collections dedicated to fantasy – with titles such as El hombre marcado, by Peter V. Bret, and Lamento, by Ken Scholes – to science fiction – La Vieja Guardia by John Scalzi is a good example – and to horror literature – with works such as the anthology Zombies, edited by John Joseph Adams, and the novel 13 balas, by David Wellington.

Since 2003, Minotauro has awarded the Minotauro International Prize for Science Fiction and Fantastic Literature, which has become well established in its vocation to strengthen literature in the fantastic genre and science fiction in the Spanish language and to become a springboard for the projection of Spanish and Spanish-American writers in this genre.
